I mean, what do you expect to happen in an isolated mountain cabin during a horrible snowstorm? 

I was fortunate to receive this ARC from Poisoned Pen Press, and before I get into my thoughts, a big thank you to Mallory Arnold for writing this book, to Poisoned Pen Press for selecting me as an early reader, and to NetGalley for facilitating all of this for us.

My thoughts of Cross My Heart, I Hope You Die:

The beginning of this story had me cackling. Not laughing, not giggling—cackling!

Think of the movie "The Other Woman" with Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton, but then make it a bit darker with some fun thrown in at the beginning. And then watch as the other shoe DROPS, and this story spirals out of control. It gets horrific, fast. And I loved it!

When I say it spirals, I really mean it. There are things happening that you can’t even imagine just by reading the book jacket description. I do like how it all ended up, but man, was it a wild ride getting there. 

It’s also funny because I bought Mallory Arnold’s first book, How To Survive A Horror Story, last summer from a little local bookshop in Stratford, ON, and it’s been sitting on my TBR shelf since then. I didn’t even realize the author connection until I was partway through reading this ARC! So, needless to say, I’ll be starting that book as soon as I’m done with work today.
