The cover of Benjamin Stevenson's "Everyone in this Bank is a Thief"

Ernest Cunningham has never been held hostage before, but he’s getting the full real-life experience in this latest Ernest Cunningham book! And once the doors are chained shut and there’s a murder at the bank during the “heist”, we are officially in a locked-room mystery. And those are what Ernest is best at solving.

But who could’ve done it? What is each person doing at the bank on this specific day? That’s what we, as readers, get to find out!

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My thoughts

I think Everyone in this Bank is a Thief by Benjamin Stevenson might be my favourite of the series since the first book. I guess I should actually say it’s a trilogy plus a Christmas novella.

As the title suggests, even though we’re dealing with a bank heist, it seems as though it’s not as simple as one may think. We don’t just have one person who is suspicious… everyone is suspicious. But what else would you expect from an Ernest Cunningham adventure.

There were fun twists and turns in this story, and I legit gasped out loud when one thing happens, but sorry, I’m not saying what that is because I am spoiler free on here.

I was also really happy at another part, because Ernest kept saying something was totally impossible, and I knew the scientific way that it was totally possible—all because of a random episode from the TV show Castle, with fellow Canadian Nathan Fillion (who I would watch doing absolutely anything at this point). I mean, Castle is still one of my all time favourite shows and now The Rookie is too.

But back to the point: this book was great, it was funny, it was a mystery that needed investigating, and I recommend it to you!

Question of the day

What amount of money would tempt you into robbing a bank? Or would it just always be out of the question? It may be silly, but let me know!
