The cover of Mere Joyce's book, "As the Snow Gathers"

It’s January in the 1800s, and the people of a tiny Canadian town are learning that the forest doesn’t just take what it’s owed… it takes whatever it wants.

**For future readers, there’s a potential spoiler in my review video on socials, but it’s also something that is revealed in the first chapter… so, maybe not really?

I was given an ARC of Mere Joyce’s As The Snow Gathers by Poisoned Pen Press in exchange for my honest review, so first, thank you to all involved for making that happen!

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My thoughts on As The Snow Gathers:

I warn you that this book has a great start, but then it’s kind of slow, but then the second half of the book is CRAZY (the good kind) and I raced through it.

This book is for anyone who likes historical fiction, mystery, paranormal stuff, romance, winter, etc. A great way to start off spooky season!

As The Snow Gathers came out yesterday, Sep. 1!

Question of the day:

If you’re someone who reads creepy stories all year, do you wait to read the truly spooky/horrific ones during spooky season? Or do you just keep reading as you normally do, and enjoy that everyone else is now in spooky mode too? Let me know!
