When six struggling, “mid-list” authors are invited to spend the weekend at an author’s private island, they arrive to discover a shocking twist: this famous author is dead! And he died before finishing his final book. These authors have been invited in to ghostwrite the ending of the book, and the winner will get a boatload of money and a huge book deal. It’s a deal worth killing for. But who will survive the next 72 hours on the island and finish the book?

My thoughts on The Ending Writes Itself:

I had no idea that “Evelyn Clarke” was actually author V.E. Schwab and screenwriter Cat Clarke as a writing duo until after I finished The Ending Writes Itself.

This book was funny, it was smart and witty, it was sad and maddening at times, it was “I want to punch you in the face, you stupid character”… I’d like to give you examples of each of those feelings as I felt them, but so much of this book would be easily spoiled.

Also, this book was just a great length.

If you like a witty locked-room mystery, this one is a good choice for you!
