Book cover of Karin Slaughter's "We Are All Guilty Here"

We Are All Guilty Here is set in small-town North Falls, where everyone knows everyone. Except… they don’t really. That becomes very evident when two teenage girls go missing, and throughout the investigation that ensues, everyone realizes that they didn’t know those two girls at all. Can Officer Emmy Clifton find them before the clock runs out?

Then, years later, could a copycat culprit be on the loose in town again? Can Emmy catch this person before something horrible happens? There’s so much to get into when talking about this book.

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My thoughts

I thought We Are All Guilty Here was great! Each twist in this book worked really well, and maybe it’s because this is a new author for me, but I didn’t see them coming. Okay, maybe one I did see coming, but most of them I didn’t.

I’m really glad Karin is going to continue with this series because I can see how much these characters could grow, and the internal conflicts that will arise, and so on. I think the next book comes out in August!

Question of the day

When an author you love starts a new series, do you follow them blindly into the new books? Or do you still need to read the synopsis before diving in? Let me know your preference!
